Facilities include specialized laboratories, a veterinary clinic, a modern library system, sports centres, recreational spaces, and a radio station. The total enrolment stands at 5,000 students. International students have access to a special student ID card for public transportation (Bus Pass). The UVM has its own transportation for their students at no further cost.
In spite of its relatively small number of students, the UVM has been actively working on carrying out further endeavours with universities in Europe, the United States and also Asia.
Within this international framework, since 2003, the UVM has been giving Intensive Spanish & Latin American Culture Programmes to international students (mainly from the US), who come to Viña del Mar for an exchange experience.
